Sodium Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid

Natori SPCA 50 (Supermoist PCA) is a humectant that occurs naturally in the skin. It is known for its excellent hydrating property and is used in many skincare and haircare products. About 12% of Sodium PCA is found in the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF). It has stronger hydrating power than glycerin, sorbitol and propanediol: 1.5 times the hydrating power of glycerin, 2 times that of propanediol, and 6 times that of sorbitol under the same environmental conditions. It is non-poisonous, non-irritant, and non-allergic.
