γ-Polyglutamic acid
A safe, natural and biodegradable multifunctional biopolymer produced via fermentation of L-glutamic acid with Bacillus subtilis. It is a water-soluble homo-polyamide consisting of D-glutamic acid and L-glutamic acid monomers connected by amide linkages between α-amino and γ-carboxyl groups. Its molecular weight is usually between 100 – 1000 kDa.
